To Whom it my concern, I was shopping at BIGW at Broadmeadows shopping center. My wife, two kids and my self deicided on buying a coffee machine and were trying to see which one was suitabl for us when a female customer also came towards the item that we were intrested in. There was two machines and the price tag read origanal price $198.00 NOW $120.00 so I and the Female customer took the Item to the registers to purchase them. The girl at the counter scaned my Item and it showed $198.00 , so I appoligised and told her that it was marked down to $120.00.
She then called one of the team leaders to get a price check when she paged one of the floor staff. He then went back to get the price of the item and came back with the response of $198.00. I then asked the team leader to go back with me to the shelf to show her that it was $120.00 so she did. She saw the marked down tag and said to me it was $120.00, when they screamed at me and said (No It’s $198.00 Your a THIEF YOUR TRYING TO ROB US) when some people were walking passed in the section all looked over at me funny.
I felt so Inbarassed and so small and put down. The store manager was called down to take a statement and my details off me she also aske the team leader and called me a THIEF AND A ROBBER and she replied YES HE DID. If someone from WOOLWORTHS head office could please contact me .

I’m a regular shopper at Surfers Paradise Woolworths. This morning I was putting a few items through the self serve when one of the items wasn’t registering properly. The young woman monitoring the check outs came over and rudely checked all the items in my baskets with the check out list. I appreciate assistant but I’m VERY angry that this woman approached me as though I was a thief. If staff need to assist a customer they could at least say “Good day, I can help?” or something to that effect not just barge in without saying anything. I quietly and appropriately relayed this incident to the woman on the customer service desk. If I’m treated in such a manner again at that store I will make a public ruckus about such inappropriate ‘service’.
Just admit you are a thief and leave the honest people who work there alone
I went to Browns Plains Kmart and was very upset by the way they treated me, I was using a self-serve check-out, I had put through a top that rung up at $3.00 and a pair of swimming togs that were meant to be marked down to $10, for some reason the register asked for assistant so the young girl came over and checked all of the products in the bag then held up a box my 17 month old had grabbed from beside the register and placed in the trolley and proceeded to tell me that I was trying to steal from them. I hadn’t even scanned it, I wasn’t aware my daughter had put it in the trolley and to make matters worse the barcode had been ripped off so the young girl showed me the bottom of the box and raised her eyebrows at me and said ‘We’ll get another box shall we?’ I was gapping at her, how dare she insinuate that I was going to steal this toy, my daughter had grabbed it from nearby, for all I know someone else had taken the barcode off and was going to steal it but dumped it near the check out. I looked at her and said ‘ My daughter just picked that up from near the check out, and no I am not going to buy it because I do not buy my daughter everything she wants!’ She asked another staff member to replace all the items in my bag, I guess in case I’d tampered with them, I felt so small, everyone was watching, in the end I turned to her and told her I no longer wished to buy items from a store where I was going to be accused of shop lifting! Kmart you should be ashamed of yourself, your staff are rude and unhelpful, I found this to be the case in several stores. I am a 26 year old married mother, yet I always get targeted and pulled aside, all my baby bags thoroughly looked through. I have seen many young teenagers pocket stuff from your stores but I refuse to dob them in to you now because you don’t stop them at the exit anyway. I pay full price for all my items, I always buy xmas presents for the kmart xmas tree and I always wait patiently whilst you check my stuff and make sure there are no hidden items in my babies pram. you are ridiculous and you have now lost a customer and my friends and family now boycott your store as well!
