I just wanted to tell AT&T that they need to straighten out their Billing Dept. I just had a mild complaint but after trying to make a simple email contact with them I am furious. They are impossible to contact, or at least to contact a real human. I suspect they are not very different from many other companies, but that’s no excuse. Messing around on their website was a ridiculous experience!
Now, my billing complaint. I was going to go on a short vacation with my grandson so I made sure all my bills were paid up (like good citizens do). One of these was my AT&T Mobility bill. I paid it in full on July 5th. I received another bill from them shortly before I left on vacation on July 20th, but it turned out to be a credit for $40 (+). So, trusting fool that I am, I left on vacation. Four days into my vacation I attempted to call home from a motel room in Missouri only to get a recording that I had been shut off due to non payment of a bill.
No way to contact them! No phone service! I was bummed but I told myself I had lived without a cell phone before & I could live without one now & went to bed. Lo & behold my phone was working in the morning! So thinking that someone had figured out where they screwed up (not me), I just went on with my vacation. I got home from my vacation August 2nd and there were two letters from AT&T.
One welcomed me to AT&T (a cover up to try and get me to expand service and, of course, give them more money), and another saying that I owed them $335.65 and if I didn’t pay up they were going to shut off my service and would charge me another $40 to reinstate it! I jumped right online to pay them and what do I see on my list of already paid bills but the payment to AT&T that they said was past due already processed through the system!
So I went online to try and tell them that someone was sleeping at the switch and got the run around. Anyway, I gave up trying to contact them online and called the 800 number and got the “800 number runaround”. I finally got to the department that gave me the bottom line of what I owe and it was less than the bill so I guess I’ll get another credit from them ……… I just dunno!
