I don’t usually get involved with complaints but I am steaming right now!! My daughter Olivia is a sophmore at Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania. She works two jobs at home in the summer to help put herself through college. 1 Waitress and 2 Life Guard. Last spring before she came home she went job hunting for her next year at school. The manager at the time in the restraurant in Chambersburg, PA told her to call in July before returning to school.
So, she did and he told her she was hired and to call back the end of July to verify, so she did and at that time she ask him if she could put her 2 week notice in at her waitress job (the year before she came home every other weekend, 1 hour away to work) he told her yes she could and she went back to college a week earlier to train.
Well… much to her surprise that manager was fired and a new manager was there, she explained and was told she would have to interview so she did and waited and waited now it’s the middlie of Sept and she finally calls to be told they wern’t in a position to use her! Olivia is a very hard worker and quit her local waitress job of 2 years to work there that’s just WRONG!!!
Now every student is back in school and jobs are slim to none, here my daughter is thinking ahead by job hunting before she went home for the summer and TGIFridays just screwed her big time!!!!!!! Thank, I see this restraurant really cares about students who work their way through school! Gail Haubert
