I purchased a pamper deal through Groupon for myself and my mom for a birthday treat. It was advertised as ‘a full body massage, facial, manicure and pedicure’ The standard of the salon itself where the offer was taking place wasn’t very good and apart from the one young lady that did the massage, the customer service was low. There was no atmosphere and the owner did not appear very happy with the whole groupon offer and customers.
Anyway the massage was fine to be fair and lasted just about 25 mins but the facial was 3-5 minutes long and just a tone and cleanse! We were asked on arrival if we wanted a manicure or pedicure and when i pointed out it was advertised as both the manager told me this was not correct and was on or the other and so we chose a pedicure but then she said ‘actually it’s more of a file and paint and tidy up really’! and that it was..it lasted 10 minutes and was just a file and paint and not a very good one at that.
The very young girl that did this i would say was a trainee and had just been bought in to do this and be paid next to nothing.
It was my first time using groupon and i was very dissapointed. I paid £22 per offer and the original value was supposed to be £12o, giving me a saving of 82% per one. Well that is utter rubbish. There is no way what we had was worth the £22 i spent let alone £120! Our treatments lasted in total no more than 45 minutes which is disgusting really and Groupon have not given me what i paid for.
I have emailed my complaint to them 3 times now and have had no response at all so i will be taking it up with Office of fair trading as having read other compaints and their report on them, i am not prepared to let it go and let them get away with it.
I feel that groupon’s offers are trimmed down because of the low cost you pay and you do not save with them at all…big scam and i would not recommend!
