I have been unemployed since summer of 2009. I have experience in gardening, shipping and receiving and cashiering. I have applied many times on-line for openings in various cities. Our local newsparer reported that a new center would be opening in nearby Encinitas this summer. I went online and applied again. All previous applications said I failed the assessment. I always answer honestly and fairly. I have held jobs since age 10 and am now 60. I still can do the work of a 20 something. Yesterday I balked at answering the same assessment questions and I answered NEUTRAL to most of the questions. Again, I fail. Why do you let a computer decide who is hirable and who is not??? Why cant a real person in HR who will be involved with this store decide? What happened to the good ol’fashioned interview and a handshake?? I am very disappointed with your co. and its hiring practices. I would be an excellent garden shop mgr, displayer, cashier, or any combo of the above. I could work on the overnight team and sleep during the day – I’ve had graveyard shifts before. I am glad I found this complaint web page so I could get thru to real people at the main office who have sympathy for the unemployed.
