I received the following SMS at 02:14 Date: 19.5.2011 (S.Africa time): Congratulation. It is our pleasure to inform you that your sim number has won 175k from our Nokia yearly promotion. Your PIN No is TV2. Contact (name witheld) at 0788415430 and make sure your pin is activated by your claim agent before transfer. Sent by No: +27712760430. I did not follow up on this as I asked my work colleagues to find out if it is a scam or not. The reply was yes. We as hardworking consumers have no time for false hopes and I request that this must be investigated.
I recieved a sms that reads – Congratulations for 2011 Nokia Promo, your cell no.won R250,000 call your claim agent Mrs Venessa on 0795685561 to activate your ticket no: 0166p from 7am to 6pm. I phoned them and they told me to activate your ticket i must buy a R200 telkom prepaid card. I tried to do so but didn’t get the card so I phoned and they told me I must get R220 vodacom voucher to activate, so I did it.
Also sceptical of giving them my bank account I asked if they can send it to me, this morning I got an sms that reads: FEDEX COURIER SERVICES: Please you are advice to pay the delivery fee of R1700,00 to enable us to deliver your cheque. call your claims agent for payment. So i phoned to find out why i must make the payment befor delivery. he insisted that i pay the money and keep the proof of payment to give to fedex and fax him a copy aswell so that he can let them know that the money has been paid and they can deliver tjek.
The Managers name is Jackson Morgan the numbers they use is 0815907644 and 08200703322171 (most probaley the internet) and 0730810157 the account number they gave me is Mr. A Ndzukuma account number 9266370963 Absa Bank.

I received an sms yestarday, tht said my number had just won R250.000 in Nokia yearly promotion, with ticket no:2295NP, they said i must call this no:0719457090, is this a scam?
I received also last night 22/09/11 at 22:16 a sms from +27723565009 – Congratulation’s your sim have won R150,000 From Nokia Yearly Promo.Your( ref NO N P 301) Please Contact Mr JOE ON 0735014842 for Activation & Claim.
I phone Mr Joe this morning and he asked me my ref no of the sms, Mr Joe told me that I won R150,000 and to received my cheque I must buy R220 airtime and sms him the airtime pin + my name + my surname and postal address to 0735014842. Itold him that I think it is a scam but he promise that he is at the Nokia Head Office in Cape Town and that my sim won the money.
You must be strong Not to believe him!!!
I received a sms this morning from cell no 0797311350 to say that my cell no has won me R150 000 in cash with ref NK774. I had to call the claim centre on 0792956131 to claim my prize> I did phone them although I suspected it being a scam and the lady wanted my bankdetails and id no. this i had to sms to her. well obviously I wont do that.
i received an sms which read Congratulation! You have won R162.999 on Nokia 2011 Promotion with Ref No- NUK/218.Call Mr Steve Hill @0760430445 to verify aand release your winning prize soon. . The message was sent frm this number 0722071299. Is this a scam I called the guy and he said do you want it deposited in the bank or a cheque so i said cheque so they said i shld pay an amount of R900 and something rounds for Fed Ex to bring the cheque. Is this a scam or not? if so why is Nokia not doing somethig abt it..
