I have just receive 2012 sms from these guys claiming to be running a promotion from Cape Town. It reads as follows – “Congats Your sim no has won 95000 00 and E65 phone in a Nokia yearly promotion. As a result of that, i took the phone and call the number 072 871 9958, which i got a reply from the Lady called Melesa.There are also some other two numbers which i didn’t not try to call and they are – 073 5221598, 0822181434.
I then asked her if she knew something about this sms and she just told me congrats once again you have won yourself a prize money. She immediately asked if i wanted the money deposited in my account or in a cheque form and i chose the latter.
After i gave her my option she then requested me to buy a Vodacom air time voucher worth of R150 sothat i can activate the code number which is YX2 and promised in three days time the money would be readily available..
After all this i started to be suspicious and then told myself this could be a scam.
But then again, if this is a scam, since there is no number that can work without it being ricad, why is so thugs and put them behind bars once and for all as lots and lots of people are being scammed out of their valuable monies they had actually so hard for.
Consequent to all the above, could you Nokia family then please give feedback as you are the one that is being directly affected as your name is being draged in the mud in 2012.

Hi Vodacom, Early this morning I received an sms from a Scam Claiming that I have won about R150 000.00 in (Nokia)Yearly Promotion!! and the Ticket number is (P286)to claim my prize I must call Mrs.G E Veronica at 0725496420. I have just called the lady now and she told me to buy an Airtime of R220.00 to activate my Claim, tell is that the way you are giving out prizes in Vodacom or is this just a scam trying to crook peoples
I receive an sms stating “Congratulation!!! Your cell number was among the lucky winner in the Nokia Yearly Promotion 2012 with a reference number and 2 contact details. I phoned Mrs Smith’s number but Mr Joe Nobles answered (0714400617 / 07251191460). Asked me questions. Are you ricka and the exact date could not give. Asked what will I do with the R150 000 to help the needy.
I had 2 switch off the phone and back on and phone back. Did congratulations now you want by cheque or bank. Said cheque and now must sms particulars. Could hear he was doing something on a computer while asking questions. I mentioned from SAPS but he was calm and cool. Please be aware this is a scam
I was also scammed by this same sms scam congratuling me that i had won R150,000 just a week ago by these criminals who asked me to purchase a x 2 R110, air time voucher to activate some number to recieve my prize money. I have taken this to the cid organised crime unit for assistance in this. these people are believed to be in the cape town area address number 11 long street opersit Absa. i urge others not to fall victims to these bastards.

Congratulations! Your Mobile No: has won the sum R295,000 from Nokia Promo. With Ref: No.: ZNK012, for claim call 0710171669 to activate ur Ref Number. I’ve phone them yesterday. Talked to a guy and he says I must give him my Ref nr and them phone back in 10 min. So I phoned back and the phone just rung. Called again this morning, lady piced up. She immediately asked if i wanted the money deposited in my account or in a cheque form and i chose the letter, I told her because they already have my banking details!! (wich they luckelly didn’t)
After i gave her my option she then requested me to buy a Vodacom air time voucher worth of R110 so that I can activate the code number which is the same as above and promised in three days time the money would be readily available..
After all this i started to be suspicious and then told myself this could be a scam.
I’ve phoned Vodacom, they said we must ignore it – IT IS A SCAM. Please don’t fall for it (know it would be nice to have extra money, but this is a scam!!!!)
I recieved same sms they i have won 450000.00 my wory they need R3500 to so that they ca deposit to my account if i try to call them now the umber the gave seems to be angag and the sms they send me it like the that is going to send the monyey is froe UK please help how can we stop this not countuing because thy know that we desparate need money that why the doing this

Hi , I also recieved this sms saying that i woned 17500 and they also give a a ref no which is 0029, i was told to call Mr Smith to claim my price which i did he asked me if i would like the cheque to be posted or deposited on my account so i choose posted, after that he asked me for my personal details of which i gave him now he wants me o purchase 1500 airtime, Guys is not worth it let’s stop it now.
I received de same sms telling me dat ive won 200 00.00.i called de numbernumber .de man hu replied had a deep foreign acceny.he told me to buy 110 voucher but i must not regarge it,i must call him.i had feeling dis is a scam.my question is what is nokia doing about dis since it has been going on for years.people are desparatr for money.
Yes it happend to me as well, just this morning. We all want to believe that some good may happen to me of all people. Nothing is for free. I won R250 000. Same story cash or cheque, buy R275 airtime give the code and they will send the cheque by mail. What will people still do to steel the little other people have. This is totaly disgusting and I’m ashamed to call myself a human being.

Whao, never knew I have friends who have also received this useless text from this shameless beings. Just now 7.53pm, I got a text which reads thus: NOKIA UK PROMOTION!!! YOUR MOBILE NUMBER WON 315,000GBP IN NOKIA UK PROMO FOR DETAILS AND CLAIMS E-MAIL YOUR NAME/NUMBER TO: NOKIA.PRO.CLAIMS@LIVE.COM. But I went to NOKIA site and saw all your comments. Well when, it comes to me, I advice them to try better. Lol

I also received the same sms, i’ve seen all your comments but I have not seen Nokia the brand we love respond, I mean these people are using their name. Nokia are you gonna do something about this, are you gonna make an example of one of these fraudsters or are you just gonna keep quite & let them get away with corrupting your brand name, now even if nokia would really do something for their customers we would not believe it.
