Mcdonalds Restaurant – Worst One I’ve Seen

To whom it may concern at McDonald’s: I have been a long time customer of McDonald’s. My wife, myself, my children, and my grandchildren eat at McDonald’s restaurants often. We have seen extremely clean to moderately clean McDonald’s coast to coast. The things that are consistent about McDonald’s restaurants are the quality of food, the fast and courteous service, and the overall cleanliness of McDonald’s restaurants.

Sadly, on Sunday, November 27, after church we went to a McDonald’s in Mcdonough GA at 801 Hwy 81 E, that was everything that a McDonald’s should not be. It was not crowded or busy, so there was no excuse for the lack of service we received. We ordered and paid for our meals at the counter. We then noticed that there was a terrible smell in the restaurant. The smell appeared to be coming from a sour mop that was being used to clean the restaurant. We spoke to the manager and pointed out the smell, which she spoke to the cleaner about.

At that point, the person who should have been filling our order went outside, along with another employee. Twenty minutes later we still didn’t have our order. Another person at the counter asked if they could take our order (the other two employees were still outside talking). We explained we had already placed our order (the ticket was on the counter). The remaining person filled our order. We went to our table (so far over 30 minutes wait – and we were almost the only people in the restaurant).

I noticed that there was one cup short on our order – the fountain machines are customer accessible. I returned to the window and waited 15 minutes while the one person there had a cell phone conversation. She looked at me several times but would not pause her cell phone conversation to get me a cup. By the time she finally decided to get me a cup, my entire party had finished their meals (the other two employees were still outside sitting on the walkway talking). The manager appeared to try to get everybody to work, as a number of people came in, gave up, and left. She was also being ignored by the staff.

Our order was taken at 19:55 (7:55 PM). We finally were able to finish our meals at 9:45PM and leave. Most of that time was spent waiting on our order and its missing items. As we passed the two employees outside, one of them commented that those people leaving were rude. I guess because we said something about the mop. He failed to mention that we were polite about the order even though we were not treated as customers should be. Had I not already paid for my order when this ordeal began, I too would have left as many other customers did who could not get service.

I will make sure to pass on my experience to the other church members about this restaurant. The worst part about this is that it was obvious that nobody but the manager seemed to care how the customers were treated.
