Went to Finish Line store in Boise, Idaho Towne Square Mall May 2, 2012 and found a pair of Nike tennis shoes I wanted soooo bad. They were lime green and the sales person graciously helped me, was courteous and suggested that they ran small and I might need to go up a half size.
He was right-I tried them on and loved them. Got up to the register to pay for them-they were $99.99 before tax and I handed them my $20.00 off coupon which could be used on the purchase of $l00.00 or more-they told me my purchase didn’t qualify because it had to be $100.00, not $99.99-they suggested I buy a package of sport socks for $9.99 and I would get a second package for free-told them I didn’t need any socks, but that I would buy some shoe laces for $2.49 to be able, again, to use my $20.00 off coupon. They said the shoe laces didn’t qualify.
By this time, I was more than angry because our difference was one penny. The two people at the sales register told me there was nothing they could do for me so I told them I didn’t want the shoes, even though I really wanted them and that it didn’t make sense to turn away the sale they could have had for one stinkin penny.
