I have never ever ever had such a bad shopping experience. I am actually in shock and cannot believe how bad Dino Direct customer service is. They LIE, change their minds, change their own policies, and you cannot get a straight word out of them. If I had to list all the trouble I have had with them it would take hours to type. I waited over two months for an order. After the 2 months I was told the items were out of stock and I could change for other products, get Dino Points, a refund or a gift card.

I said fine, I’ll have a refund. They replied saying that I now have a gift card. I replied saying “no I asked for the refund”. They replied “thanks very much, we have sent your gift card” I have sent emails after emails after emails asking why can’t they read!!?? They offered me a refund, I accepted and they keep on saying no, you can have a gift card. It is like they are all dumb, or can’t read, or are just big scammers.

The products I have received from them, are all faulty, or falsly advertised, wrong power plugs even though they stated otherwise, and very poor quality products. It is all a big scam. They get you to order. Then months latter say its out of stock. Then make you take a gift card. But you cannot use the gift card unless it is the exact amount, so you loose money, cause you cannot find anything for the same amount and cxannot add money to it. Plus they expire quickly.

Plus I paid $50 extra for express postage, it took a month to get here (not the 5 days as stated) and I was told by Dino that it was sent by normal post for it is easier to get through customs. But they would not refund my postage. So I paid for exspress postage to receive normal postage. I have asked to speak to Dino’s big boss, but no one will reply to me. They are the most horrible people I have ever dealt with, and after 3 months, I am still trying to get back refunds on out of stock items, that I neve even received!

If you are thinking of shopping at Dino Direct, shoot yourself in the foot, it is less painful!!!

One Customer Review of Dino Direct Problems with Refund

  1. Bob Lidds

I bought some shoes from DinoDirect, size 44cm, the biggest size available and delivery time was reasonable. It turned out that the shoes were closer to 42cm than 44cm and quite narrow – made my size 44 trekking shoes look like boats by comparison. I complained via Customer Service. They said I had ordered the wrong size. When I corrected that they requested I take photos to prove the point and I sent them pictures of the shoes next to my hiking shoes. Then they offered me a credit, whcih I took as I thought I could use it and also sell the shoes on eBay.

I used the credit to buy an intelligent charger for NiMh batteries. That took about a month to arrive. After about 4 weeks of usage, the charge went “phssffft!” and stopped working. Back to customer service and they replaced it, after offering me the option of replacement or credit – no refund note!

Later I bought a power supply brick for an Acer laptop. The power cable for this became intermittent after 2 weeks, so I used one I already had and did not go back to DD. The latest is I bought some lithium batteries tpe CR30XX in two sizes, 5 of each. Although branded Panasonic and Maxell, they were obviously made in China. Having used a few, I can tell you that they have very small amounts of stored energy and are nowhere near the capacity of Japanese-branded batteries. Now I am battling Customer Service for a refund again – they want a video of how the batteries have failed. I am writing reports like this anywhere I can find an opportunity. I am also going to quote what was written on this site back to them.

My conclusion is that they sell cheap copies with unreliable quality and do what they can to hang onto the money. Not a new business model, but we should do what we can to warn people .
