I did my weekly shop at Woolworths Mowbray (Tas) on the morning of Sunday the 8th of January. When I arrived at the checkout I was putting my groceries through and the young man serving me was engaged by the next customer who called his immediate supervisor over for a chat. They all clearly knew each other. I have no problem with people having a talk but I DO have a huge problem with being actively ignored and treated as if I were invisble and totally irrelevant to the reason for them (the staff) being there. I have found this to be the case with most (not all) checkout operators. While the work may be repetetive and/or boring it is the reason they are getting a wage.
No amount of adverising and spin will make up for poor face to face service. It costs nothing to deliver good service but is invaluable in achieving a postive customer experience and repeat business. I’ve been a Woolworths customer most of my life and cannot get whole biscuits or Diabetic products ,the biscuits are gluten free choc-chip they are always broken ,maybe 4or5 whole ones in a packet but even these ones you pick and they crumble in your hand. The other thing I want to know with the amount of diabetics these days why do you have gluten free and nothing for Diabetics I spend a lot of time checking the carbs and sugar contents of cereals and after a considerable time give up as it’s hopeless.
I would appreciate a reply on this matter as sometimes people get ignored thank you.
