We sent an error report to microsoft and had a man calling himself Jack contact us saying he could speed up our computer links by ridding the computer of many errors and installing some software for the one off payment of 10.00. The next thing we hear is from the fraud department of the bank saying someone had been trying to access our account with numerous withdrawals. |We put a stop on the card but a payment of 197.90 was taken. Through no fault of our own and thinking that coming under the microsoft umbrella we were safe to give bank details we are no further forward and have a deficit of 197.90. Do you have any compensation available for this type of scam? We are willing to give you any further details if necessary. We did report it to the police and action fraud, so there is a record available for you to check that we are genuine.
