I was in Burger King in Elko Nevada East End Mall last Saturday 9/10/11 approximately 12:00 P.M. 2 managers were “screaming” at the 2 young men in the back, telling them they were “unacceptable and worthless”. The 2 in the back seemed to be working as quicklly as possible and we received our food in satisfactory time and condition. It was embarassing to watch these 2 women act this way and I am sure the boys were horrified.
They also told the boys that their actions would cost them 2 “criticals”. I later ask one of the boys when I saw him the next day what a critical was. He said it is $1 that is charged for mistakes. This $ does not come out of his check but he must pay it out of his pocket directly to the manager. This sounds very strange to me. Where does that $ go?
This particular young man had only been on the job for just over a week and I am sure he is still making mistakes. For that matter I’m sure that in several weeks there will still be mistakes (he’s human)if he lasts that long. I would not work for Burger King under these conditions.
