the apple store located in emeryville ca. does not tell the customer their old hard drives will not be given back to them , until AFTER you pay for the new one they put in. if i had known they were going to keep my old hard drive , i would have taken my laptop elsewhere. i have been lied to by the employees at apple . i even had to take the laptop back a second time because their so called apple experts loaded the wrong software into the laptop . At first , I was told my photos and music were put into the new hard drive , yet when i checked , it was not .
when i called the apple store again and demanded my old hard drive back , they hung up on me . when i called a second time , they told me the “manager” would call me back. he never did. I DONT CARE HOW ” GOOD ” PEOPLE SAY APPLE’S PRODUCTS ARE, THEASE YOUNG KIDS THEY HAVE WORKING AT THIS APPLE STORE ARE LIARS . I dont trust that they know what their doing . If you or anyone you know has a complaint about the apple store let me know because this is wrong and they shouldn’t get away with poor customer service…

I had a similar situation here in Chicago. I was told they couldn’t give me back my old h.d. “for legal reasons” . So I asked “do I actually own this h.d ?” and the clerk admitted that I did in fact legally own this piece of equipment . I informed him that this is called “conversion” in legal terms .In fact it is a type of theft .I suspect that Apple ships the drives to China and has them refurbished then sells them back to us . I am disgusted .I intend to take this further .
